Pagepoint Services (I) Pvt Ltd (PPSIL) and Microwave Communications Ltd (MCL) were incorporated as Paging companies in the year 1994 and 1992 respectively .MCL was awarded paging licenses in seven cities and PPSIL in four cities by Department of Telecommunications, Govt of India.The PPSIL was acquired by MCL in the year 2000 from Motorola Inc. which owned and operated Pagepoint till the take over. The acquisition of PPSIL from Motorola incorporated International Standards and Practices in Call Centre and Customer Services in Operations. Paging in India has
primarily been operator assisted and therefore practically it was 24X7
inbound Call Centre services .The
paging was at it's peak in 1999 and thereafter it started
declining fast due to drastic
reduction in Mobile charges. The decline led to focus on developing Call Centre
Competence and growing this business. Investment in Call Centre infrastructure is
